Etosha Fishing Corporation (Pty) Ltd a substantial contributor in the Namibian Fishing Industry, and an equal opportunity employer has a vacancy in Walvis Bay for the position of: ASSISTANT CANNING MANAGER

You possess the following knowledge / abilities / skills:

  • Grade 12 with a degree / diploma in Production Management
  • At least 8 years’ experience in a junior management role within the food processing sector, preferably in canning
  • Strong understanding of best practices, production procedures, planning, product development, and cost control
  • In-depth knowledge of HACCP, hygiene, and GMP standards
  • Technical proficiency in production operations
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Proven budgeting, cost control, and stock management skills
  • Strong reporting abilities
  • Leadership skills with experience in managing large teams
  • Outstanding planning, organizational, administrative and results-driven abilities
  • Multilingual and proficient in MS Office

You wish to execute the following responsibilities:

  • Assist the Canning Manager in resource planning for the production process
  • Oversee and control the production flow to ensure optimal yield and throughput
  • Participate in product development and innovation
  • Maintain budget and ensure best practices in cost control
  • Manage human resources within the production team effectively
  • Support new ventures and project initiatives
